Cost

As a 501©3 nonprofit our ministry is funded solely through the generosity of the families we serve and the friends and supporters of Casa Dei Bambini.  As part of our mission, we want Catechesis of the Good Shepherd to be available and accessible to every child in the Wichita Diocese and beyond.  And so, we do not specify a specific donation amount as we never want money or the ability to make donations to stand in the way of children and families receiving the Catechesis at Casa Dei Bambini.  While we do not specify a specific amount to be donated, we encourage you to prayerfully discern the amount you can generously donate in support of our ministry and the work we are doing to build the Kingdom of God.

As a nonprofit all of our catechists and board members are volunteers.  Your donations are used to purchase materials for the children’s work, consumable materials (paper, glue, pencils, etc.), Bibles for each child Level 2 and Level 3, Journals for the children, retreat funding (First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation), house materials (toilet paper, hand soap, cleaning supplies, etc.), general house upkeep and repairs, and utilities.

Donations can be one-time donations, yearly, monthly, or even multiple times per year.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. When do sessions start this year?

Sessions typically start in mid-September and run through late April. We will send out a calendar to enrolled families in August so you know what dates we are in session.

2. I just found out about CGS and Casa Dei Bambini. Can I sign my child(ren) up to start now or do they have to wait until next year?

Please fill out the enrollment form above and send an email. Some sessions may be full, so we can’t guarantee a spot.

3. I have a child that will turn 3 during the school year. Can they come all year? Can they start once they turn 3?

3 year olds need to be 3 as of our start date in the fall and fully potty trained.

4. I have a child that is the age for Level 2 or Level 3, but they have never been in the atrium before. Do they need to start in Level 1?

No, we will place your child with the correct age group. The material presented in each level is intended for a particular level of development to meet their needs without leaving anything behind. Please make a note on your enrollment form that they are new to CGS, and the catechist may give them some additional presentations to serve their individual needs.

5. Do you require a parent to volunteer in order to enroll a child?

No, we do not have any requirement for volunteering. We do have opportunities for volunteering throughout the year, and we always welcome more hands.

6. Do you require a parent to stay at the atrium while classes are in session? Can I stay if I want to?

We do not require parents to stay during the sessions. We prefer that parents do not stay, partly because our space is limited and partly to help maintain an environment that is focused on the needs of the children. If you have a particular concern about a child, please contact us.

The exception is the Infant Toddler level. This session requires a parent to be present at all times.

6. My child has special needs. Will you serve them in your atrium?

Yes! We are committed to serving the needs of all children. We encourage you to contact us about your specific situation so that we can determine the best way for your child to participate in the atrium.

7. My child is preparing for sacraments this year. Do you provide sacramental preparation?

Yes, please visit our Sacramental Preparation page for more information.
